Rajini – Kamal Project: Director Hunt Begins In Tollywood?

Many directors across South India consider it a dream to make at least one film with Rajinikanth, and that statement is never an exaggeration. In that sense, it is quite surprising that such a star is now struggling to find the right director for his next project after the film Jailer 2.

Rajinikanth has already agreed to do another film after Jailer 2 under the production of his long time friend Kamal Haasan. Fans became excited the moment this legendary combination was announced and expectations went up instantly.

Initially, the film was handed over to senior director Sundar C, but within ten days he stepped away from the project, leaving everyone shocked. With his exit, the team had to begin the search for a suitable director all over again.

However, in Tamil cinema, they are unable to find a strong director who matches the stature of both Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan together. This has created unexpected confusion for the team at an early stage.

While they continue to explore options in Tamil, both Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are reportedly looking toward Tollywood as well. Telugu directors are currently delivering good results with Tamil stars and are proving their versatility across industries.

Directors like Vamshi Paidipally and Venky Atluri have already succeeded with Vijay and Dhanush, and several other Telugu directors are capable of handling big stars. Most of them are busy, but if the opportunity to work with Rajinikanth comes, they may put aside their ongoing commitments. It remains to be seen which director will finally take up this prestigious project.
