‘Kaantha reviews have pleasantly surprised me’

Dulquer Salmaan starrer Kaantha with Bhagyashri Borse in leading lady role and Rana Daggubati, Samuthirakani have played prominent roles. The period drama is produced by Rana and Dulquer Salmaan with Selvamani Selvaraj directing it. Rana Daggubati interacted with media today.

He said, “We wanted to give tribute to the studio culture and golden era of films – 1950’s and 60’s, in our own way. Director Selvamani brought this script after conducting meticulous research. Hence, the Tamil audiences are praising it highly but Telugu people are taking time but the response is good.”

Rana further explained that Dulquer’s first mirror scene had set the tone for the film. He stated that it is Dulquer Salmaan, who made the film such a classic with his performance. Bhagyashri Borse joined the press event and stated that she is glad to find such a great script and role as her first film.

She stated that while other films released early, she is happy that Kaantha became a new beginning for her career as a serious performer. Rana exclaimed that the reviews for the film have pleasantly surprised him and he is sure that film will be a memorable hit at the box office.
