Varanasi To The World: Globetrorrer & Timetrotter

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s first-ever collaboration with director Rajamouli, titled Varanasi, had its launch today. The film unit launched a glimpse that blew everyone’s minds. The film transports us to Tretayugam, where Mahesh plays Lord Sriram on the screen.

The film begins in 512 CE in Varanasi, and then goes to 2027 CE when Asteroid Shambhavi falls on the earth. It goes through Antarctica, Africa, Vanaanchal, and to Tretayugam (7200 BCE) and shifts to the introduction of Rudra, who is on a mission.

The trailer is filled with a lot of VFX elements, attached to Mahesh’s shot in the end. Mahesh is seen intensely, holding a Thrishul riding a Nandi. Playing Rudra, Mahesh Babu called this a dream project and hoped to make everyone proud.

The team almost took a year to achieve this output. It looks like Rajamouli has blended mythology with time travel this time, and the concept is going to be extremely intriguing.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas plays the film’s heroine while Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the lead antagonist. Durga Arts bankrolls the film.
