Puri’s Quick Ride Again – Will It Give Him the Much-Needed Comeback?

Tollywood filmmaker Puri Jagannadh’s career has been marked with biggest highs and disappointing lows. But, one thing that stands out is that he always made a strong comeback every time he was written off by critics after delivering back-to-back disasters. He landed in a similar situation again after scoring consecutive debacles with Liger and Double iSmart. 

After taking a brief hiatus, Puri teamed up with Vijay Sethupathi for an action entertainer earlier this year. He has a rare distinction for completing his films in quick time at a rapid pace and his knack of completing the shooting formalities at a single stretch with top-tier actors is unmatched by any other South Indian director in his league. 

Living up to this reputation and inimitable style of working, Puri has once pulled off a similar feat by wrapping up Vijay Sethupathi’s film in just four months. The filming commenced in July this year and has now been completed. The makers unveiled a brief video to capture the emotion of Vijay Sethupathi on this occasion. 

This film is very crucial for Puri as a director and producer because his previous two outings ended as outright disasters and also incurred huge losses in terms of revenues. He will need to make amends this time as a director and also score a commercial hit as a producer. With talented actor like Sethupathi in the lead role, the expectations are quite high. It also stars Samyuktha Menon and Tabu in significant roles. 

This film will release in multiple languages next year. The team will now kick start promotions. Slum Dog and Beggar are in consideration as titles. An official announcement about the title and the release date will be out very soon.
