Recently, Anupama Parameswaran has been taking on author-backed roles rather than regular glamorous characters. After delivering commendable performances in films like Paradha and Bison, she is now set to take on another strong role in the film Lockdown. This movie’s theatrical trailer was unveiled today.
Going by it, Lockdown looks like an intense, gripping drama showcasing the emotional and psychological journey of a woman during the COVID-19 lockdown. The trailer opens with Anita (Anupama Parameswaran) saying that she doesn’t want to go home, presumably because she is in a problem for which she cannot face her family.
Later, we are shown the circumstances and lives of people during the COVID-19 lockdown. During this lockdown, Anita’s life takes a dramatic turn as she gets entangled in various problems. She is chased by men, borrows money from friends, and gets beaten up by family members. All these factors lead to a core problem that Anita is facing, which is kept hidden in the trailer. To know what that conflict is, we have to watch the film.
The trailer is gripping and is elevated by a strong performance from Anupama. The film might be another good chance for Anupama to showcase her acting prowess. Music directors NR Raghunanthan and Siddharth Vipin have given an intriguing background score for the trailer. On the whole, Lockdown looks like a serious drama packed with an intense performance from Anupama. Directed by AR Jeeva and produced by Lyca Productions, Lockdown is slated for a worldwide release on December 5.
