The Sankranti 2026 race is turning into a packed festival at the box office. Usually each film has a different genre and each team uses its own natural advantage. But this time every big Telugu film is aiming straight at the family crowd with full entertainment. With four major straight Telugu releases dropping their first singles, comparisons have already begun even before the trailers.
Among all of them, the earliest buzz came from Chiru, Anil Ravipudi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad. Without any pan India push and without multiple language versions, the song Meesala Pilla exploded on social media and crossed several milestones. It went past seventy million views and became the most recreated track online with lakhs of reels and posts. If this song had not created that massive wave, the hype around the film would have been much lower. Bheems delivered one of his sharpest compositions and it clearly helped the movie step ahead of others.
On the other side, Naveen Polishetty’s film released Bhimavaram Balma from Anaganaga Oka Raju. The song did not climb instantly but has the feel of something that might grow slowly with time. The team is planning a stronger promotional push to take it further.
Meanwhile, the most awaited title track of Raja Saab did not hit the level fans had expected. Reactions were mixed and many felt the tune lacked the spark they wanted from Thaman.
Ravi Teja’s Bharatha Mahasayulu Vignapthi followed with Bella Bella featuring Ashika Ranganath. The video looks colourful but the song feels regular and may need time to pick up.
In the dubbing category, fans are still waiting for the Telugu version of the Vijay’s Jana Nayakudu song. Parashakti released but did not make much noise among the audience.
Eeven though these songs came out at different times, the loudest applause and the strongest crowd response clearly went to Meesala Pilla. It is the track that set the tone for the Sankranthi competition.
