Tharun Bhascker who will next be directing the sequel to his blockbuster Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi is coming up with his new film as lead actor. Titled Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi, the film co-starring Eesha Rebba is directed by first-timer A R Sajeev and produced by S Originals and Movie Verse Studios. Today, the makers dropped the film’s teaser.
Set in the rural area, the story centers on a well-off fish trader named Ambati Omkar Naidu, who is self-absorbed, while he gets married to Kondaveeti Prashanti, a woman of quiet dignity and patience. Their union, one born of ego and endurance, forms the emotional spine of this entertainer that marries humor with heart.
Tharun Bhascker seems to have found a role that lets him play with attitude and situational comedy. Eesha Rebba slips into her character with a calm confidence that complements the tone of the film.
A R Sajeev impresses with his dealing of comedy. Cinematographer Deepak Yeragara presents the serene beauty of the countryside strikingly, while Jay Krish’s peppy score enhances its rustic charm. The teaser, peppered with situational comedy- including a hilarious IPL conversation, teases a film that’s both entertaining and grounded in authentic village flavor.
With its polished production values and vibrant storytelling, Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi looks to deliver a cheerful kickoff to the new year when it releases on January 23rd, taking advantage of the Republic Day weekend.
