War 2 Setback Won’t Stop YRF: Pathaan 2 Confirmed

Shah Rukh Khan’s biggest blockbuster Pathaan is going to get a sequel now. Tentatively titled Pathaan 2, the film will further extend the Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe. The project is confirmed today during an event in Dubai, where SRK made its presence.

The announcement quickly went viral, igniting a surge of enthusiasm on social media as fan accounts filled with clips from the event. Interestingly, the scoop has come out at a time when Durandhar is performing exceptionally well at the box office. Everyone thought that YRF would put a pause on producing spy universe films, especially after the failure of War 2.

Moreover, there are also speculations that Alia Bhatt’s upcoming film Alpha will be the last one in the universe. However, the latest announcement has ignited fresh discussions now across social media. But fans are still wondering whether YRF can come up with an innovative concept to drive Pathaan 2 forward.

If the production house is still relying on the age-old Pakistan rivalry concept, it will not make any sense. Moreover, the amount being invested on VFX and action sequences should also be driven towards brewing an interesting story. Else, the charm of the universe will be lost completely.
