Akhanda 2 GO’s – Timely Move This Time!

Akhanda 2 had several issues last week, which led to the change of its release date. The film was first planned for December 5, but it has now been moved to December 12. Paid premieres will take place on December 11. The makers received permission from both Telugu state governments to increase ticket prices for a short period.

In Andhra Pradesh, the December 11 benefit show will have a ticket price of ₹600 including GST. From December 12, single screens will increase the ticket price by ₹75, making it ₹222.5. Multiplexes will increase it by ₹100, making the ticket ₹277. These prices will continue for ten days.

In Telangana, the December 11 benefit show will also have a ₹600 ticket including GST. From December 12, single screens will raise the ticket price by ₹50, making it ₹227, and multiplexes will raise it by ₹100, making it ₹395. These higher prices will be in place for three days.

Earlier, the government order for telangana was not issued even hours before the scheduled premieres. But this time, the fans need not worry. The team successfully managed to get the permission a day before the release now. Now, it’s all upto bookings timings. If they are opened in advance, it will be useful for big opening.

Additionally, the government also instructed the makers to donate a part of the film’s revenue from hikes for Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation Welfare Association. “All the managements of all the Theatres screening this movie at these enhanced rates are directed to compulsorily contribute 20% (Twenty Percent) of the incremental revenue earned from the movie to the Telug Film Industry Employees Federation Welfare Association Account to support the Film Industry workers,” read the GO.

The US is a major market for Telugu films, and Akhanda 2 has flexible pricing there. Premiere shows in XD or PLF formats are priced at 19 dollars, while standard screens are priced at 16 dollars. This flexible model is expected to help bring more audience to the theatres.

Akhanda 2 Thaandavam stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, Samyukta Menon and Aadi Pinisetty. It is written and directed by Boyapati Sreenu, produced by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta under 14 Reels Plus, and presented by M. Tejaswini Nandamuri. Music is by Thaman S.
