The pre-release event of Roshan Kanakala’s next outing Mowgli, directed by Sandeep Raj, was held last night in the presence of Rana Daggubati, Maruthi, Ravikanth Perepu, and several other guests. During the event, the team announced that the movie will have a ticket price of 99 only.
Director Sandeep Raj spoke emotionally about the immense effort his team invested in the film and the challenges he faced during the five-year gap following his debut project Colour Photo. He thanked producer Vishwa Prasad for his unwavering support and praised Roshan Kanakala for giving his all to the character. “This movie is like eating biryani with the perfect killi as a finishing touch. If Akhanda 2 is biryani, then Mowgli is that Meenakshi paan that gives a kick,” he said.
Roshan Kanakala described Rana as a torchbearer of the industry for consistently supporting small films. He also appealed to Balakrishna fans to extend their support to Mowgli. “For me, cinema is an obsession and acting is my passion. Sandeep has been under a lot of pressure these past few days, but Vishwa Prasad stood by him completely. Sakshi, in her very first film, delivered an excellent performance as a mute and deaf girl. Harsha is a phenomenal actor. He didn’t just perform the role, he lived it. Bandi Saroj is like a lion on screen. We’ve built a strong bond through this film.
Mowgli is the story of a man’s battle for love. We all fight wars- for love, career, passion, or self-respect. People may discourage us along the way, but we must rise above it. I request everyone to support Mowgli and make it a winner.”
Rana spoke about his long-standing association with Sandeep Raj and the film’s technical team. “Cinematographer Maruthi worked on Baahubali, and I’ve known Sandeep since before he became a director. His earlier film was wonderful, and I understand why he feels low about the five-year gap. But remember — time is temporary, movies are forever.
Colour Photo will live forever, and Mowgli will too. Don’t worry about the gap; when you look back at your filmography, it won’t even matter.
Roshan feels like my own brother. When I saw him in the trailer, I felt the same spark I saw in Charan during Chirutha. To all Telugu audiences — this weekend, the entire jungle is with you. The lion is roaring on the 12th, and Mowgli will come on the 13th.”
Director Maruthi also extended his best wishes to the entire team.
