Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 received mixed reviews, but its opening-day revenue was decent. But the film faced a dip in the collections on the second day of its release. The film is performing well in B and C centers, which is unsurprising. However, given the scale of the film, it will likely need to pick up on Sunday to reach break-even more quickly.
The film collected an amount of 22 Cr in nett Telugu on day one, whereas the number is around 15 Cr nett on day 2 for the Telugu version. The film’s first-day revenue in North America is approximately $600k. The film has further dropped on the second day, and it needs to pick up there as well. Durandhar is performing exceptionally well in North America. Akhanda’s evening shows have better occupancies but overall still flat vs previous day.
Balakrishna and Boyapati combination is known for delivering blockbusters, and the public opinion is that Boyapati alone can showcase Balakrishna in the best possible manner on the screen, and no one can ever repeat the same. Still, this time, the combination disappointed the audience.
Akhanda 2 was released amidst financial issues and then a controversy over ticket prices. But, the film finally had a smooth release on Friday.
