Hero Akkineni Nagarjuna donated Rs 2 crore to ANR College in Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday. The amount will be used to provide scholarships for students as part of the college’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Nagarjuna attended the event as the chief guest and inaugurated a new building on the campus. He also paid tribute to his father, legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, who had donated Rs 1 lakh to the college in 1959. Speaking on the occasion, Nagarjuna said his father valued education deeply and worked to support the future of many people despite not having formal education himself.
Several dignitaries, including Gudivada MLA Venigandla Ramu, attended the programme. Founded in 1950, the college welcomed the donation and thanked Nagarjuna for his support toward education.
