In a recent interview with Gulte Pro, Malayalam actress Anaswara Rajan spoke about her unexpected journey into films and her upcoming Telugu debut Champion.
Anaswara says she never planned to become an actor. She comes from a middle class family in Kannur and had no connection to the film industry. Her life changed when a family friend suggested she send a photo for an audition. That small step led to her first film Udaharnam Sujata in 2017, where she acted alongside Manju Warrier. For a teenage girl who grew up watching Manju Warrier on screen, the experience felt unreal.
At first, Anaswara missed the normal life of school and college. But as audiences began to appreciate her performances, she slowly realised that acting was her true passion. The film Super Sharanya became a turning point, helping her grow both personally and professionally.
She is now entering Telugu cinema with the film Champion. Anaswara noted that Telugu films are made on a larger scale and often require more expressive performances compared to Malayalam films. The biggest challenge for her was dubbing in Telugu, but she chose to dub in her own voice with support from the team.
Anaswara believes in acting naturally without overthinking. As she prepares for Champion, she is excited to see how Telugu audiences respond to her role.
