Drishyam Makers Found A ‘Better Actor Than Akshaye Khanna’?

Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna became the toast of the tinsel town after his whistle-worthy screen presence and thunderous performance turned out to be one of the biggest driving factors behind the mammoth success of Ranveer Singh’s latest blockbuster Dhurandhar.

Amid the roaring box office performance of Dhurandhar, one recent development which grabbed the attention of everyone is the unceremonious exit of Akshaye Khanna from the much awaited Hindi sequel of Drishyam, which is all set to start rolling very soon. A few days ago, it was reported that Akshaye Khanna walked out of the Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer due to some remuneration issues with the production house.

According to latest reports in Bollywood circles, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak of Panorama Studios has confirmed that Jaideep Ahlawat is on board to replace Akshaye Khanna in the upcoming third installment of the Hindi version of Drishyam 3. The producer reportedly alleged that the Dhurandhar actor has quoted an unreasonable remuneration after signing the aggreement and left the project despite several negotiations.

The reports further claimed that the producer is said to have stated that they got a ‘Better’ actor and a ‘Better’ person in Jaideep Ahlawat compared to Akshaye Khanna for Drishyam 3. He played minor roles in several films before appearing in the crime film Gangs of Wasseypur and later secured supporting roles in several films, including Gabbar Is Back and Vishwaroopam II.

The producer is also said to be going ahead to file a legal case against Akshaye Khanna for his unprofessional decision. He also alleged that the actor insisted on wearing a wig in the third installment which the director didn’t agree as it may result in continuity issues in the story. Akshaye Khanna portrayed the role of IG Tarun Ahlawat who investigates Sam’s murder.

Drishyam is one of the most successful franchises in Malayalam, Hindi and Telugu languages. Ajay Devgn will headline the Hindi version and Abhishek Pathak will be wielding the megaphone again. The Hindi version is slated for release on October 2nd.
