Producer Naga Vamsi has revealed a key and surprising detail about Suriya’s upcoming film, giving fans a clearer idea of what to expect from the project. The film, directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Sithara Entertainments, takes an unusual and thoughtful approach to romance, especially for a star hero.
According to Naga Vamsi, the story centers on a 45 year old man and a young woman aged around 20 to 21. Rather than following a routine commercial template, the film explores how their lives cross paths and how their relationship slowly evolves through familiarity, friendship, emotional connection, and eventually love. The age gap of nearly twenty five years between the lead characters is intentional and forms the emotional core of the story.
In Telugu cinema, it is common for senior heroes to be paired with much younger heroines without the story acknowledging the age difference. What makes this project stand out is that the age gap is not ignored but used as a narrative strength. The makers aim to present the bond in a sensitive and realistic manner, focusing more on emotions than glamour or forced romance.
Suriya stepping into such a role signals a shift in his choice of scripts. After experimenting with larger than life and risky projects that did not work as expected, this film appears to bring him back to grounded storytelling. Working with Venky Atluri, who is known for handling emotions cleanly and connecting well with audiences, has further raised expectations.
The film is nearing the end of its shoot and is planned for a summer 2026 release. While delays around Suriya’s other project have slightly impacted scheduling, the team remains confident about the final output.
