Karan Johar is one of the most successful producer-directors in the current Bollywood industry. According to strong rumors circulating across the Hindi film industry, Karan Johar is planning to make a sequel to his iconic film Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.
If this rumor proves true, it will be one of the most anticipated projects of 2026-27. Additionally, assembling the cast for this film will be a significant challenge for Karan Johar. The original Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham featured an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan, and Kareena Kapoor.
Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, popularly known as K3G, was released in 2001 and became one of the most successful multi-starrer films of its time. The film received widespread acclaim from audiences and was among the highest-grossing films at the box office in 2001.
On the other side, some reports suggest that Karan Johar may approach the K3G sequel with a fresh storyline and a new-age cast, keeping the emotional tone intact. However, there has been no official confirmation yet, and everything remains at the rumor stage.
Karan Johar’s most recent directorial venture, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani, was a commercial success featuring acclaimed actors Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. Karan Johar won the National Film Award 2025 in the category of “Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment” for this film.
How many of you are eagerly awaiting the K3G sequel?
