The controversy between actor Sivaji and Anasuya continues to draw reactions from film personalities. The debate, which began with Sivaji’s comments on actresses’ clothing choices, has divided opinions within the industry and on social media.
Senior actor Suman has now shared his views, taking a balanced stand on the issue. He said Sivaji’s choice of words was wrong and unacceptable, adding that Sivaji had already apologised for it. However, Suman also felt the discussion should be seen from another angle.
Referring to senior actresses and dancers like Silk Smitha, Jayamalini, and Vijayalalitha, Suman pointed out that while they wore bold costumes on screen as part of their roles, they were very simple and reserved in their personal lives. He said cinema and real life are different, and artists should understand that distinction.
Suman explained that earlier actors treated cinema with great discipline and professionalism. According to him, they knew where certain attire was appropriate and where it was not. He added that maturity and proper guidance are important, especially for the younger generation, and such understanding usually comes only with time.
