Will PK End Sreeleela’s Flop Streak Like He Did With Shruti?

Happening Tollywood starlet Sree Leela is going through a tough phase in her career as she bagged a string of flops after getting critical appreciation for Bhagavanth Kesari. Except for her sizzling act in the item song beside Allu Arjun in Pushpa 2, she tasted back-to-back debacles in the last couple of years. 

Her attempts to make a splash in Kollywood did not yield desired results because Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi opened to mixed reports with great deal of recognition for her performance. After a promising start, Sree Leela is now struggling to score one decent commercial hit to recalibrate her low lying career. 

Now, she pinned all her hopes on Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming cop drama Ustaad Bhagat Singh which has Harish Shankar at the helm. She is desperate to make a strong comeback with this much anticipated Summer release. 

Coincidentally, Sree Leela is now in a similar position like that of Shruti Haasan in 2010s. At that time, Shruti Haasan was one of the most sought after actresses in South cinema. But, a series of flops hampered her rise to stardom. When she was struggling to revive her career, a blockbuster arrived in the form of Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh in 2012. 

After the striking success of Gabbar Singh, Shruti Haasan went on to become a top-league heroine and paired up with almost all marquee actors in Telugu and Tamil. 

Now, Sree Leela’s career is at a crucial juncture. The outcome of Ustaad Bhagat Singh will have a strong impact on her future. Harish Shankar is once again coming up with a full length commercial potboiler packed with whistle-worthy moments and mass elements. 

If Sree Leela gets a meaty character to unleash her acting mettle besides proving her dancing prowess, Ustaad Bhagat Singh will be a turning point in her career just like how the box office result of Gabbar Singh boosted Shruti Haasan’s career.

Ustaad Bhagat Singh is carrying strong expectations as the teasers hinted that Pawan Kalyan will be back to his vintage mass avatar once again. If Harish Shankar repeats his magic, Sree Leela will be back in the reckoning.
