Music composer AR Rahman recently made comments on the film Chhaava saying that it is a divisive film. He opined that the film cashed in on divisiveness, but the core of it is to show bravery.
Interestingly, the statement attracted diverse opinions from personalities across the film industry. Kangana Ranaut heavily criticised Rahman in this context.
Kangana Ranaut wrote that she tried to approach Rahman for her film Emergency but he reportedly refused.
“Dear @arrahman ji, I face so much prejudice and partiality in the film industry because I support a saffron party, yet I must say I have not come across a man more prejudiced and hateful than you.” she wrote.
Kangana added, “I desperately wanted to narrate my directorial Emergency to you. Forget narration, you even refused to meet me. I was told you don’t want to be part of a propaganda film. Ironically, Emergency was called a masterpiece by all critics. Even opposition party leaders sent me fan letters appreciating the film for its balanced and compassionate approach, but you are blinded by your hate. I feel sorry for you,” she wrote, ending her post with the hashtag #Emergency.
However, there is no clarity if Rahman voluntarily decided to not be a part of films like Emergency. But, Kangana’s comments are getting a lot of attention now from everyone.
