Iconic singer from the Indian film industry, Arijit Singh has shocked music lovers across the nation by announcing his retirement from playback singing at the age of 38.
This decision comes as a major surprise, as he is currently at the peak of his career and holds one of the top positions among male playback singers in the country. At a time when his demand and popularity are at their highest, the announcement has left fans emotional and confused.
Arijit Singh has contributed immensely to Hindi cinema with his soulful and heartfelt voice. He delivered several all time classics, especially during the early 2010s, which continue to remain evergreen. Even today, his songs receive a strong response from all sections of the audience, cutting across age groups and regions.
Apart from Hindi cinema, he also sang a few songs in southern film industries such as Tollywood, Kollywood and Mollywood. Those songs earned him good recognition among South Indian moviegoers as well.
However, his retirement is limited only to playback singing. It does not mean that he is leaving music entirely. He may continue his musical journey through independent music, cover songs, live concerts and other personal musical projects.
While this decision may not go down well with music lovers, it remains his personal choice. Fans will continue to cherish his timeless songs and hope to see him explore new creative paths in the world of music.
