Varanasi Locks Release Date, No Clash With Spirit?

SS Rajamouli is not just a gifted film maker who can be regarded as the biggest commercial film maker of this generation in Indian cinema, but he is also blessed with very good marketing skills. This is on display again for his upcoming film, Varanasi with Mahesh Babu.

After the massive glimpse launch that was held later last year, Varanasi team had been rather silent as they have been busy with production activities. But all of a sudden, an impromptu promotional material dropped, and that too in a thematic manner in Varanasi.

Incidentally, a hoarding which reads “In Theatres April 7, 2027” was set up in the holy city of Varanasi and these pictures are now going very on social media. Will there might be no official word from the makers of Varanasi, this impromptu promotional material is perhaps another moment of genius from Rajamouli to silently promote the release date.

Earlier it was a speculated that Varanasi would be releasing in the fourth week of March. However, confusion arose after Sandeep Reddy announced March 5 as the release date for his Prabhas-starrer Spirit. Since a clash could have impacted both films at the ticket counters, the issue has now been resolved.

And now we have something interesting coming up as Varanasi has dropped impromptu promotions by hinting at April 7, 2027 release. If that really is the case, then there will be ample gap (1 month) between Spirit and Varanasi which would aide both entities.
