Will Dhurandhar Hero Join Hands With South Directors ?

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is the toast of the town because his recent film Dhurandhar not only saw a roaring box office success but also turned out to be a smashing hit on OTT platform as well despite some disappointments. All eyes are now on the much anticipated sequel which will hit the screens in March this year. 

As he gears up to kick start the shooting formalities of his next film Pralay, there have been numerous speculations regarding his future projects in the media. From the past few days, unconfirmed reports have been making rounds that the ’83’ actor is in talks with some of the leading directors in South India. 

It is heard that top-league director Shankar Shanmugam is planning to rope in Ranveer as one of the main leads in his ambitious project which will be based on popular Tamil historic novel Velpari. Also, rumours are abuzz that Telugu director Boyapati Srinu is also looking to lock Ranveer for an action packed drama. 

While Ranveer’s team is maintaining utmost silence on his upcoming commitments, the buzz on these projects keeps gaining momentum due to the ongoing media reports. But, the chances for these combinations to materialize appear slender as of now for several reasons. 

Firstly, Ranveer Singh is not in a hurry to sign his future projects as he wants to make sure that his filmography will be more diverse and unique instead of doing back-to-back commercial potboilers. Moreover, he might also prefer to work on the third installment of Dhurandhar if the second part emerges a huge success. 

In the past, Ranveer agreed to work with Hanuman director Prashanth Varma for a period drama titled Rakshas. However, the project was shelved due to some creative differences. A few years ago, there were reports that he might collaborate with Shankar for the Hindi remake of Aparichithudu. But, the plans were later put on hold due to unknown reasons. 

With the tremendous success of Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh has now become one of the most-sought-after actors in the country and several big directors are eager to work with him. But, he is very choosy in picking up right scripts. So, all these speculations will just make rounds in the media just without any reliable confirmation.
