Kollywood film With Love, which was made on a shoestring budget, is making good waves at the box office in the opening weekend. Despite having no festival advantage and amid competition from a bunch of new releases, the youthful drama managed to notch up impressive numbers in the first two days.
As per trade estimates, With Love notched up 3.53 Crores net in two days and set for a promising haul on Sunday. Starring Tourist Family fame Abishan Jeevinth and Malayalam sensation Answara Ranjan in the lead roles, With Love released last Friday and took a decent opening with 1.60 Crore net.
The film garnered good reports from moviegoers and critics alike and this has given a strong boost to the collections on the second day as it registered 1.93 Crores net to take the total past 3.53 Crores.
The coming-of-age romantic drama benefited due to the likeable performances by the lead roles and the heartwarming narration by debutant director Madan. Despite some underwhelming moments, the film managed to draw the attention of audiences.
If the film continues to see more growth on Sunday, it will be a terrific opening weekend considering the budget and the cast involved in making the film.
