In the film industry, misunderstandings come and go. But how people handle them is what defines their character. Senior actor Arjun is proving exactly that now.
A project that once fell apart amid controversy is finally reaching theatres this Valentine’s Day in the form of Seetha Payanam. What makes it interesting is the history behind it.
The film was initially planned with Vishwak Sen in the lead. Things did not go as expected, differences cropped up, and the collaboration collapsed even before it properly began. The issue became public, emotions ran high, and for a while it turned into a major talking point in industry circles.
Instead of staying stuck in that moment, Arjun chose to move forward. He rebuilt the project from scratch, roped in Kannada actor Niranjan for the lead role that was once meant for Vishwak Sen, and reshaped the film with fresh energy. Now, after all the turbulence, the film is ready for release.
The twist in the tale is that Vishwak Sen himself is also arriving in theatres this weekend with his new film Funky. It has unexpectedly turned into a box office face off between Seetha Payanam and Vishwak Sen’s latest release.
Naturally, many wondered if there was still unresolved bitterness between Arjun and Vishwak Sen. But Arjun has shut down that speculation. In a recent interaction, he made it clear that he does not believe in revisiting old disputes. According to him, some collaborations simply do not materialize due to various reasons, and there is no benefit in reopening closed chapters.
More importantly, he extended his good wishes to Vishwak Sen and hoped Funky performs well too. That gesture speaks louder than any past controversy.
In an industry driven by ego clashes and silent rivalries, Arjun has chosen dignity. And that might just be the bigger story than the box office numbers this weekend.
