Superstar Mahesh Babu and global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas have opened up about their thrilling experience of working with ace director S.S. Rajamouli on his upcoming film Varanasi. Known for his grand vision and path-breaking visuals, Rajamouli seems to be taking a bold new route by choosing realism over heavy VFX for this project.
After wrapping up major schedules in India, the team flew to Nairobi for an extensive shoot. Priyanka Chopra shared stunning glimpses from Africa on Instagram, posting pictures and videos of wildlife such as hyenas, hippos, ostriches, and African buffaloes.
These posts sparked strong buzz online, with fans guessing that Rajamouli is capturing real jungles and animals instead of relying on computer graphics.
Now, speaking about the experience, Priyanka opens up in an interview, “We shot in Africa during migration season. Mahesh and I were literally in the middle of wildebeests. I’ll never forget the energy of that.”
As we at Gulte reported earlier, Rajamouli placed Mahesh and Priyanka right between migrating wildebeests, making it one of the riskiest sequences ever attempted in Indian cinema.
Though strict safety measures and expert supervision were in place, fans are still amazed by Rajamouli’s courage and commitment to authentic visuals. This daring approach has only increased excitement around Varanasi, with audiences eager to see what magic Rajamouli will deliver next.
