Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit seems to have missed what could have been a golden opportunity at the box office. The film was initially scheduled for a March 19 release, despite a planned clash with Toxic and Dhurandhar 2. Back then, Sesh confidently described Dacoit as his Goldfish expressing strong belief in its content and box-office potential.
However, in the following weeks, the team went silent and promotions came to a sudden halt, raising questions about the film’s release plans. Later, the film was locked in for an April 10 release.
Interestingly, Toxic has now been postponed, and there are strong rumours that Dhurandhar 2 may also be pushed. Had Dacoit stayed firm on its March 19 date, it might have enjoyed a solo release during the festive window.
The situation has now changed again, with reports suggesting that Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad is likely to be preponed from March 26 to March 19. If that happens, Dacoit is unlikely to risk a direct clash with Pawan’s film.
Ironically, sources reveal that Dacoit has completed shooting except for one song, and the final edit is expected to be locked this week. As it has already missed this window, it could indeed be a major lost opportunity for Sesh’s Golden Fish.
