The makers of Gaya Padda Simham have announced May 1 as the release date. This date was planned after discussions with OTT partners. But now there is concern because Ram Charan’s big film Peddi is expected to release on April 30.
Because of this, industry talk says the release plan may change. If Peddi comes as scheduled, Gaya Padda Simham might need to move its release by one week. Producer Dil Raju is also said to have suggested this to avoid a direct clash.
The reason is simple. When a big star film releases, it takes most of the theatres and shows. Small films may not get enough screens, which can affect their box office performance.
On the other side, competing with Peddi can also work as a strategy to create hype. If Peddi gets postponed, the film benefits directly. If Peddi releases as planned, Gaya Paddha Simham can arrive a week later with added buzz. Either way, this strategy may work in favor of the film.
At the same time, there is still no final clarity on Peddi release. Big films sometimes get delayed, so the makers of Gaya Paddha Simham are waiting before making a final decision.
Meanwhile, Peddi is progressing quickly with shooting and post production work. The team is also planning promotions on a big scale. A teaser is expected around Ram Charan’s birthday on March 27, which is already creating strong buzz.
Because of this uncertainty, many producers are carefully watching the release schedule before locking their dates.
