Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur is one of the most loved faces in Telugu cinema, thanks to the success of films like Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna, in which she came up with winning performances. But the actress had been rather selective with regard to Telugu films, and she is finally coming up with Dacoit alongside Adivi Sesh.
And now, when she was asked to comment on her creative choices while picking films, Mrunal made a very interesting comment that has now drawn mixed reactions on social media.
“I must first say that I have rejected, with a big and heavy heart, many big-budget, well-packaged films due to the benchmark set by the roles Sita Mahalakshmi [Sita Ramam] and Yashna [Hi Nanna].” Mrunal stated.
While it is obviously understandable that Mrunal has a certain mindset when it comes to picking films and following up her benchmark performances, her recent work hasn’t been reflecting such quality.
A few social media users have pointed out that Mrunal Thakur did films like Son of Sardar 2 and Do Deewane Sheher Mein which neither have creative brilliance nor did they work out at the box office. If Mrunal was really particular about the kind of films that she was doing, she would not have done these commercial films that offer no variety, they say.
But at the same time, we can’t be entirely redundant on Mrunal, as she might have meant her selective choices comment, keeping Telugu cinema in mind as she had been doing films only sparingly here.
Even then we have the case of Family Star, but at the end of the day, an actor can’t entirely be blamed for the failure of a film as no one can ensure 100% success rate in the film industry.
