Farmers Are ‘Food Soldiers’: Priyanka Chopra

The protest of farmers in New Delhi against the Farm Laws brought by the NDA government is getting intensified with each day passing. Not just the politicians, even film celebrities are coming in support of farmers but again celebs are divided based on their political inclination.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh were involved in an ugly verbal war on Twitter. Joining them is Priyanka Chopra as she voiced her opinion. Calling the farmers as the ‘Food Soldiers’ Priyanka tweeted, “Their (farmers) fears need to be allayed. Their hopes need to be met. As a thriving democracy, we must ensure that this crisis is resolved sooner than later.”

PeeCee’s tweet statement reflects that she is supporting the protesting farmers irrespective of political agenda and that’s a good sign. We have seen celebs like Sunny Deol who are backing the farmers and also the BJP government’s Farm Laws. Then we have Kangana and Diljit and later singer Mika Singh stepped into this spat.

Meanwhile, the farmers across the country have called for ‘Bharat Bandh’ (shutdown) on December 8th and many states are going ahead with it.
