Actor Sharwanand, who scored a success earlier this year with Naari Naari Naduma Murari, has come up with his new film Biker, which was touted to be India’s first motocross film. This Abhilash Kankara directorial was released last Friday and opened to a decent response from the audience.
Biker enjoyed a moderate opening weekend with decent reviews, holding its own despite stiff competition from the heavily promoted Raakaasa. Surprisingly, the film showed some growth on Monday, surpassing expectations and outpacing its competitor, delighting fans and sports films lovers.
According to trade reports, Biker collected more than Raakaasa on Monday by registering good numbers in urban single screens and multiplexes. After a slow start during the weekend, it is a positive sign for the team to see the film doing well on weekdays. It remains to be seen if Biker carries the same momentum in the coming days as well.
The makers of Biker have intensified promotions after the release. Tweets from stars like Ram Charan and Nani also helped the film gain buzz among audiences. However, the film has a bigger target to cross the breakeven mark, and it needs to maintain consistent collections throughout this week to place the producers in a safe position.
Also, there are new releases in the form of Dacoit and LIK this week, and thus, Biker needs to perform very well in the next three days to end up as a clean hit at the box office.
