Director Not Invited To Trailer Event, What Really Happened?

The other day, trailer of a young hero released and surprisingly, there is no single dialogue of the hero in it. Also, the Trailer launch event was so awkward that it did not last even 20 minutes. The director was also not present at the event.

The Producer apologized the hero for some mistakes happened as it was their first production.

So, what really happened?

A director approached an NRI saying he would make a film with 25 Crore Budget and the hero’s digital rights would alone fetch 25 Crore. The producer instantly agreed and the hero was offered 5 Crore as remuneration. In a financial distress, the hero agreed without even listening the story.

The hero hoped to make some quick bucks as he is confident that his other film in production would be a hit. But things changed when it bombed miserably.

The actor checked the rush that was shot until then and found that the director was so amateurish and it will be sure shot disaster. By then, the producer spent around 7-8 Crore. The Hero asked the Producer to stop the film as he would lose big money.

He offered to do another film with a different story and director. The Producer offered to make the film’s Co-Director as the director. The Hero felt it is an insult and said ‘No’.

The producer did not listen and also finished the portions that did not need the hero. By that time, the film’s budget had crossed around ₹18 crore. The Hero refused to shoot for the film and the Producer dragged the Hero to Film Chamber.

The Chamber Biggies asked the hero to finish the film or buy the film paying the incurred expenses to the Producer.

The hero pleaded to stop the film, as the producer would suffer massive losses and he would end up with a miserable disaster. But no one listened, and the hero somehow completed the shoot.

The new director finished the movie at an edited length of 5 hours 35 minutes. That means we can imagine the inexperience and wastage that happened. They somehow struggled to bring the length down to less than three hours.

By the time, the producer realized everything is over. He showed the director way out of the project.

The Hero was so disconnected with the film. He did not even dub for the film and asked to get it done using AI and the producer can deduct the expenses from his remuneration.

The Project also had two cameramen and two music directors working indicating the troubles it has faced.

That is the reason why there is no director at the event and there is no dialogue in the trailer. The team did not take the questions from media to avoid embarrassment. 

The Producer somehow found a buyer for non-theatrical rights and is releasing the film very quickly. The Promotions are also going to be nominal from here.
