For decades, M. S. Raju, the producer behind classics like Okkadu, Varsham, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, and Manasantha Nuvve, has stood as a distinctive voice in Telugu cinema, first as a producer who backed trendsetting blockbusters and later as a director known for emotional depth and visual storytelling.
Now, the veteran filmmaker is stepping into an entirely new creative space with a pan India mystical divine thriller titled ‘Agadha’, planned for release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Raju has devoted the past year exclusively to shaping this project, carefully designing a cinematic world that blends mythology, mystery, and suspense into a fresh narrative experience. The promotional campaign itself reflected his inventive approach. A quirky video showed two thieves sneaking into his office to steal valuables, only to get distracted by posters of his iconic past films.
Their amusement slowly turns into unease when they encounter one unfamiliar poster. That mysterious image is later revealed to be from ‘Agadha’ , instantly setting the tone for the film’s eerie and divine atmosphere.
The first look poster deepens the intrigue. A dimly lit cave illuminated by torches, a towering mystical idol with twelve hands, and a lone girl standing with her back turned create a haunting visual that hints strongly at the spiritual and mystical core of the story.
Produced by Kasi Visalakshi Balusu under Sri Adi Varaha Productions, the film was shot over 85 days across elaborate sets and real locations. Nearly 45 minutes of VFX is planned, underscoring the visual scale.
Music is composed by Mikkin Arul Dev. Cinematography is by Nani Chamidishetty. Editing is handled by Junaid Siddiqui, with production design by Rajeev Nair. Additional screenplay is by Chaitanya Vegi. The film is written and directed by M. S. Raju.
