Dacoit’s Hindi: Unexpectedly Underwhelming

Adivi Sesh’s latest film Dacoit opened to decent responses at the box office. However, the performances of the lead actors are highly appreciated by the audiences and critics. Sesh also aimed a pan-India reach with the film but the films performed underwhelming in Hindi.

Of late, not every film from Telugu or South is gaining attention at the pan-India level. Similarly, team Dacoit tried their best in promoting the film in Hindi as well. Sesh already has an established audiences base in Hindi. But, nothing of that actually helped the movie gain a decent revenue.

While the makers and Sesh announced that they shoot the film in both Telugu and Hindi simultaneously, it did not attract considerable buzz towards the film. Even the presence of actors Mrunal Thakur, Anurag Kashyap and Zayn Marie did not promise good openings as well as run in Hindi.

Having said that, the trade pundits say that the film managed only to get around 5-6 cr nett which indicates a moderate performance at the hindi box office. On that note, our makers down South must be cautious while investing seperately on Hindi market from now on, keeping in mind the tastes of the audiences in North.
