A positive development has emerged in the long-pending legal battle surrounding Dhruva Natchathiram, starring Vikram. During the latest hearing in the Madras High Court, senior counsel Srinath Sridevan, representing investors K. Punniamoorthy and K. Premkumar, suggested a practical solution to break the deadlock.
He informed Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy that the film could be allowed to release, with its earnings placed in an escrow account. This would ensure that all stakeholders receive their rightful share if the film turns profitable.
The court has now sought the response of counsel representing director Gautham Vasudev Menon on this proposal. This move is being seen as a crucial opportunity for the film, which has been stuck for years due to financial disputes.
For Gautham Menon, it could well be the only viable path forward to finally bring the project to audiences. However, questions remain.
Since the film was shot several years ago, there are concerns about whether it will connect with today’s audience and align with current cinematic trends.
While the legal hurdle may find a solution, its box office reception remains uncertain. All eyes are now on the director’s decision, which could determine the long-delayed fate of Dhruva Natchathiram.
