One of the upcoming projects which has generated significant hype even before going on floors is the biopic of legendary carnatic singer MS Subbulakshmi, who left an indelible mark on the Indian music arena.
It was confirmed long back that versatile South heroine Sai Pallavi will headline this biopic which will be helmed by hotshot Telugu director Gautham Tinnanuri of Jersey fame and music by Rockstar Anirudh. The pre-production activities have already commenced and Sai Pallavi is also said to be preparing for the role.
As the start of this much anticipated biopic got delayed due to Sai Pallavi’s busy commitments in Hindi and South, fresh rumours about her replacement started making rounds out of nowhere in the media. The latest speculation is that happening damsel Rukmini Vasanth has replaced Sai Pallavi in this biopic.
However, these reports are indeed baseless and have no iota of truth in them. The same has been confirmed by the makers when Gulte reached out for clarification. They refuted the rumours and maintained that Sai Pallavi has been finalized for the biopic and there is no change in her casting.
Rukmini Vasanth is currently the toast of the town in South cinema. She has bagged several high-profile projects opposite big-ticket actors. So, this unsubstantiated news has caught the fascination of everyone and triggered intense debate. But, the news turned out to be false.
The team has further clarified that the shooting got delayed because Sai Pallavi is immersed with Ramayana franchise and Mani Ratnam’s project. The shooting is likely to commence in October this year and will proceed seamlessly until completion.
Bunny Vas is working on this classical biopic which is expected to revisit the achievements and influence of the legendary singer.
