Watch: Dhurandhar’s Uzair in Conversation with Gulte Pro

Danish Pandor, who captured everyone’s attention as the intense Uzair Baloch in Dhurandhar, recently sat down for a candid chat with Gulte pro. Reflecting on his 15-year-long struggle, the actor opened up about the overwhelming validation he’s been receiving from fans and friends alike. For Danish, the transition from being a struggling actor to being recognized on the streets of Hyderabad as ‘Uzair baloch’ feels like a dream come true.

Talking about the massive hype surrounding Dhurandhar 2, Danish shared how the sequel turned into a massive phenomenon compared to the relatively quiet release of the first part. Despite the anxiety and palpitations of the release day, the actor expressed immense gratitude for the love the character has garnered, noting how audiences are even sympathizing with a character as grey as Uzair.

One of the most discussed aspects of the film is the sizzling chemistry between Danish and his co-star, Hamza (Ranveer Singh). The internet has been flooded with memes about their bromance, with some fans even demanding a spin-off. Danish revealed that much of their interaction, including pivotal emotional beats and high-stakes confrontations, was built on pure improvisation on the sets, guided by the director’s vision.

Danish was all praise for the work culture on set, particularly highlighting how secure and selfless his co-stars were. Despite sharing screen space with big names, he never felt overshadowed. Instead, he felt empowered to explore the psyche of his character, focusing on the silence and contradictions that make Uzair Baloch such a humanized, complex figure rather than just another typical villain.

When asked about his visit to Hyderabad, Danish hinted at exciting new collaborations brewing in the Telugu film industry. He expressed his deep admiration for the storytelling and visual spectacle found in South Indian cinema, citing masterworks like Baahubali and Makkhi (Eega).

Danish is eager to embrace the challenges of working in a new cultural environment, provided the scripts and roles are as impactful as his breakout performance.

Concluding the conversation, the actor emphasized that for him, cinema is a universal language that transcends regions. He is currently being very selective, looking for characters that leave a lasting mark on the audience’s heart.

After a decade and a half of relentless hard work, Danish Pandor is ready to keep earning the audience’s love with every project he takes on, proving that talent and persistence eventually pay off.
