Mythri Movie Distributors LLP has issued a strong statement regarding the release of their new film Jetlee. Designated partner Kethireddy Sasidhar revealed that the film is being unfairly held back from multiplex properties controlled by certain exhibitors in Telangana. This blockade stems from an unresolved and entirely separate dispute over single-screen theaters concerning weekly rentals and revenue sharing.
Sasidhar made it clear that multiplex terms and single-screen terms are completely different segments, and there is no disagreement at all regarding the multiplexes. He strongly condemned the decision to block Jetlee in multiplexes, calling it deliberate pressure and a clear case of arm twisting.
While Mythri previously respected the decision not to screen their recent releases in the disputed single screens, blocking a film in a completely different sector to force an agreement is unacceptable to them.
Sasidhar urged the concerned parties to drop these pressure tactics and release Jetlee in multiplexes without delay. He maintained that Mythri is always open to fair discussions on the single-screen issue, but it must be handled on its own merit.
