Filmmaker Christopher Nolan recently revealed a new trailer for his film The Odyssey on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. This trailer gives more focus to supporting characters like Robert Pattinson as Antinous and Charlize Theron as Calypso, along with the main cast including Matt Damon as Odysseus, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, and Tom Holland as Telemachus.
In the trailer, Calypso asks Odysseus what he remembers while he is stuck far from home. He recalls his family and winning a war, but also feels that his kingdom is in danger.
Determined to return, he begins a long and difficult journey. He confidently says that no one, not even the gods, can stop him, but the final scene hints that his journey may not be easy.
Technically, the film is extremely good and lives upto the standards of Nolan. The expectations are naturally high and the team is anticipating a huge success with it as it will have a release in regional languages like Telugu and Tamil in India, along with Hindi.
The film is based on Homer’s famous epic story. It also features actors like Zendaya and Lupita Nyong’o. Shot completely on IMAX cameras, the film is set to release in theatres on July 17.
