The ongoing conflict between producers and exhibitors over the percentage model has now brought Peddi into the spotlight. During a recent Chamber meeting, the film’s producer Venkata Satish Kilaru reportedly made an emotional appeal, stating, “My release was planned even before this issue. I spent ₹350 crores on this film. We have already postponed from March 27 and April 30. My film should not be affected by this percentage model conflict.”
The statement has now become a major talking point in industry circles, especially because earlier reports estimated the film’s budget to be around ₹200–250 crores which is already huge.
The revelation that the film was mounted on a staggering ₹350 crore budget has surprised many trade analysts and fans alike.
What makes the project even more interesting is that director Buchi Babu Sana reportedly shot major portions in real locations to maintain authenticity instead of relying heavily on sets or VFX.
The scale and richness of the visuals are already visible in the songs and promotional glimpses released so far. Trade experts believe that if Buchi Babu’s story and screenplay strike the right emotional chord, the massive scale of Peddi could help it emerge as a major pan-India blockbuster.
