Kiara’s Bold Relationship Advice Sparks Cultural Debate

When Kiara Advani and Siddharth Malhotra got married, there was a huge appreciation and admiration from the public on social media.

No one expected that the couple was going to settle down in life, and until that happened, they remained silent despite the rumors and speculations that tried to irk them. Now, they have a daughter named Saraayah about whom Kiara spoke in a recent podcast interview.

Kiara Advani said that she wouldn’t want her daughter to feel like she can only date one person and has to marry that same person. “I would want her to see a very full life. I don’t want her to feel like she has to only date one person or she has to… Like, there’s no restriction of if you want to get married, get married, and if you don’t want to get married, don’t get married…” Kiara said.

Kiara Advani was in other relationships before eventually marrying Siddharth. She thinks that it helped her to get to know more about herself and what she wants.

“I’ll tell her (Saraayah) that it’s okay to experience life in totality, to decide what you want and what you don’t want, and you will make mistakes along the way. You will make some choices that, you may, in hindsight, feel were not the best, but it’s how you learn from those and what you take from those,” said Kiara.

The comments she made are definitely bold because no one wants to hear such relationship advice from a mother to a daughter.

However, Kiara’s comments have also triggered criticism from a section of audiences who feel such advice does not align with traditional Indian family values and relationship culture.

Many believe that statements like these coming from a popular celebrity may influence younger audiences in a way they are uncomfortable with, making the discussion highly divisive on social media.
