Dramatic incidents happened on Tuesday night. Suniel Narang resigned as the President of Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce citing that the Chamber is not functioning on Unanimous decisions.
On Tuesday evening, a Press Note has been released by the Telugu film Chamber of Commerce that all issues are resolved for Peddi release. The Producers have agreed to give 7.5% to the Exhibitors on Hiked Prices. A Special rent is also agreed to be paid for the Premieres or Benefit Shows.
In Telangana, the same is agreed if there are hikes and premieres. In case no hikes and premieres, the matter will be discussed then.
In the sub-committee meeting, Andhra Exhibitors agreed to it instantly. But Suniel Narang representing the Telangana Exhibitors asked to decide about the Percentage System before Peddi release itself.
It was then Dil Raju and Suresh Babu intervened and said it can not happen because many things are to be studied and most Exhibitors will not be available in Hyderabad one week before the release of Peddi. Suniel Narang sought time to discuss the matter in Telangana Chamber and get back.
But then, all of sudden, this Press Note was leaked to media by someone. When Suniel objected to it, Suresh Babu claimed he is unaware of how the Press Note got leaked and pointed out that his signature was missing on it.
Telangana Exhibitors are reportedly pressuring Suniel to insist on finalizing the Percentages before Peddi as they feel the movement will lose the momentum if the decision is deferred now and nothing will move until Paradise release.
Suniel is caught between both the sides and resigned to relieve the pressure.
Sirish Reddy is staying away from these meetings as Dil Raju is already playing an active role.
In all probability, Telangana Exhibitors will not let go off Suniel as he is their only proper representative.
Meanwhile, Producers reportedly offered 80-20 Formula for the first week. 20% is anyways equal to the current rents and so, the Exhibitors are demanding that they get at least 40%. But the Producers are not ready to give away 20% extra.
So, it is likely that 75-25 or 70-30 formula will be agreed up on finally.
