How DSP Turned Every Dialogue Into Music For Sing Geetham

For music director Devi Sri Prasad, Sing Geetham was far more than another film assignment. It was an artistic challenge unlike any he had encountered before. Directed by legendary filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao and produced by Nag Ashwin under Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, Sing Geetham is scheduled for release on June 11.

Speaking about the project, DSP revealed that every conversation in the film is expressed through music. “When I received the script, I realized that every dialogue had to be transformed into a song. This demanded a completely different way of thinking. If even one line changed, the entire musical structure had to be altered. It was an incredibly complex process,” he explained.

Unlike conventional films, Sing Geetham required all the musical material to be completed before filming began. DSP and his team developed scenes musically first, allowing the actors to perform according to those compositions during production.

The composer credited his early fascination with melody for helping him tackle the project. “As a child, I would take newspaper articles and turn them into tunes just for fun. I always enjoyed converting words into music. Without realizing it, that habit became the perfect preparation for this film,” he said.

DSP emphasized that Sing Geetham is not merely an experimental musical but a deeply emotional story. Set in a village where people communicate entirely through songs, the film presents a concept rarely seen in world cinema.

He praised Singeetham’s fearless creativity, citing classics such as Pushpaka Vimana, Bhairava Dweepam, and Aditya 369 as examples of the director’s timeless vision. “Singeetham never follows trends. His ideas are always original and ahead of their time. Sing Geetham is another example of that uniqueness,” said DSP.

The composer also commended producer Nag Ashwin and the entire team for their dedication, saying everyone worked with immense passion to bring the filmmaker’s dream to life.

Describing the experience as a blessing, DSP stated, “A chance to work on a film like Sing Geetham comes only once in a lifetime.”
