Nag Ashwin Deserves All the Credit

Nag Ashwin is arguably the most talented director of Tollywood in the current era because his impeccable vision and detailing towards the craft stands out when compared with other happening filmmakers. With Mahanati, he proved his calibre and turned the spotlight of audiences.

The pan-India success of Kalki 2898AD won him laurels and immediately drew comparisons with some of the big names in Bollywood and South India because of his innovative storytelling. Surprisingly, he took a gutsy decision to assist legendary director Singeetham Srinivas Rao instead of trying to cash in on his popularity after working with Prabhas.

Usually, directors tend to lock big-ticket projects and actors after achieving massive pan-India success to expand their familiarity with an aim to enter the top league during the crucial phase of their careers. But, Nag Ashwin dedicated himself to make sure that the seasoned filmmaker gets a befitting farewell and fulfils his long cherished dream.

At the promotional event on Sunday, Singeetham Srinivas expressed his deep appreciation for Nag Ashwin’s humility and support. He acknowledged the rare maturity it takes for a modern-day blockbuster director to step back and act as a pillar for his dream project.

The bond between the two generations of filmmakers became the emotional highlight of the evening, with a deeply moving moment where Nag Ashwin bowed down to touch the veteran’s feet to seek his blessings.

Moreover, Nag Ashwin also openly admitted that during the making of the film, he happily functioned more like an assistant director, putting aside any ego that comes with directing India’s biggest stars to simply help execute Singeetham’s dream project.

Even when Kalki 2 is on floors with some of the biggest Indian stars involved with huge budget, Nag Ashwin took a pause and put in efforts for his mentor.

Nag Ashwin has won the box office credits with Kalki, but with his tribute to Singeetham will surely win the hearts of cinema lovers forever. He truly deserves all the acclaim he has been getting for making Sing Geetham possible.

Created by the legendary Singeetam Srinivasa Rao and supervised by Nag Ashwin, Singeetham is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema. The film is set to hit the big screens on June 11.
