Will Vishwambhara Take a Big Dussehra Risk?

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara was supposed to hit the screens last year itself, but due to pending post-production work and other reasons, the film’s release has been postponed.

Having said that, Chiranjeevi himself has clarified that the film will release this year, and the team is prepping for the release activities. Now, there are speculations about the film heading for a Dusshera release.

After multiple postponements, the new reports claim that Vishwambhara may aim for a Dusshera release if the output gets ready by the end of July. But here’s the big risk at the box office if that becomes a reality.

On one side, there is Gopichand Malineni’s film with Balakrishna, billed as a gangster drama set against the backdrop of Mumbai. The film is generating good hype since it marks the reunion of the actor and director.

On the other hand, Venkatesh is also hoping for a release during Dusshera for his AK47, directed by Trivikram Srinivas. It is their debut collaboration and has been long pending. The film will be the first pick by the families during the holiday season.

So amid these, Vishwambhara may not take the risk to land in this as the buzz has reduced and there is negativity regarding VFX. The team has to gain a positive buzz and also take the film into the public aggressively without being called outdated since the shoot happened long ago.

Moreover, the film should aim for the right release timing instead of blindly targeting a festival slot. With huge investments riding on it, choosing a proper solo release window would be a safer and more beneficial option for the buyers.

Directed by Vashista Mallidi who debuted with Bimbisara, Vishwambhara is packed with high VFX elements.
