Will Peddi Director Reduce Janhvi Negativity With New Scenes?

Jahnvi Kapoor’s character from Ram Charan’s Peddi is one of the much talked about film characters in the recent times. Usually, the heroine characters in commercial films are more or less glamour driven.

Similarly, Jahnvi’s role also serves the purpose of glamour in the film but the way it was projected, portrayed and how the lead hero goes about her has been called out by a lot of critics and audiences. But today, director Buchi Babu says that her character came out well while he was penning the script.

Most of the audiences found fault with her body language, character arc and the overall feel of it. But, Buchi Babu said that he penned the character well but it was not translated well to the audiences since they had to trim down some scenes from the movie owing to length concerns. According to him, the trimmed scenes caused confusion and did not give clarity to the audiences.

On the other hand, there is also objection to her character in second half when she falls for him immediately after the lead tells that he does not know what consent mean and all he knows is only to shower love. Buchi says that it feels half cooked because they trimmed the two scenes. He assures that they will be added from Wednesday.

Having said and done, will this new version of Peddi, strengthening the character of Jahnvi help the film gain more revenues? Certainly, the answer is no as most of the audiences think that it is not a character that helps the narrative in any manner.

Moreover, it is also too late, as there is already significant negativity surrounding Janhvi’s role, and any attempt to fix it may not help much at this stage unless the added scenes are crucial to the narrative. However, some fans feel the negativity could be reduced to an extent if her character appears stronger after the inclusion of the new scenes, provided what the director said turns out to be true.
