The dark side of the film industry continues to make headlines with another troubling complaint emerging from Hyderabad. A casting artist has been booked after an upcoming actress accused him of harassment while allegedly withholding her pending payments.
The actor claimed that Prasad, a casting coordinator, helped her secure a role in Aakasamlo Oka Tara, where she played a character close to the heroine. While shooting for her role in the project was completed months ago, she alleged that her dues remained unpaid.
As per the complaint, Rs 90,000 towards remuneration and Rs 38,000 towards travel expenses are still pending. Despite several reminders, the accused allegedly kept postponing the payment without offering a clear explanation.
The actor further alleged that Prasad later called her for a meeting on the pretext of clearing her dues. Instead, he allegedly physically harassed her while promising bigger roles and future opportunities in Tollywood.
After discussing the matter with her family, the actor approached the police seeking action and protection. Banjara Hills police registered a case and launched an investigation. The incident has once again highlighted the problems faced by many artists navigating the film industry.
