Maa Inti Bangaram has emerged as the biggest blockbuster of the year so far. Made on a budget of around Rs 30 crore, the film had already recovered most of its investment through pre release business before hitting theatres.
The film entered the profit zone on its very first day. Strong word of mouth and excellent family support helped it sustain exceptionally well at the box office.
So far, Maa Inti Bangaram has grossed around Rs 72 crore worldwide. With the second Sunday expected to be huge, the film is likely to finish the day close to the Rs 80 crore mark.
The biggest challenge begins this Friday with the arrival of Nagabandham and Rao Bahadur. If both films receive positive talk, Bangaram could lose a major share of screens and audience attention.
However, the Samantha starrer still has four more days of relatively free run at the box office. These weekdays could add valuable collections before the new releases take over.
Reaching the Rs 100 crore mark is not guaranteed at this stage. But if the film continues its remarkable hold over family audiences, the milestone cannot be ruled out completely.
Created by Raj Nidimoru and directed by Nandini Reddy, Maa Inti Bangaram has become the preferred choice for women and family audiences. That factor remains its biggest strength as it enters another crucial week at the box office.
