Why Hindi Media Claims Pushpa & KGF As Bollywood Films ?

Following its success, movies like RRR, Pushpa 2, and KGF 2 further cemented the place of South cinema. These films broke numerous records and made massive money at the pan-India box office, proving that South cinema is no lesser than Bollywood.

Unfortunately, some Hindi media outlets have started calling hit franchises like Pushpa and KGF as Bollywood films. Few leading news portals published an article stating that bollywood hit franchises are coming back with their third installments. In this, it was mentioned that Pushpa 3 and KGF 3 are among the much anticipated Bollywood franchises in the coming days.

This has surprised many movie lovers because these films actually belong to the South Indian film industry. Labelling them as Hindi cinema ignores the hard work and unique style of South Indian filmmakers who crafted these stories.

These movies became successful beyond South because they offered something fresh and never-before-seen content for Hindi audiences as well. They brought large-scale action, intense emotions, and hero-worshipping moments that people truly missed seeing on the big screen.

Because of this massive love from fans, South Indian actors and directors are now recognized as the biggest stars in the entire country. So, labeling their hits as Bollywood films is simply wrong, as the glory belongs to the South Indian film industry that redefined Indian cinema.
