One of the most iconic horror franchise in Hollywood is Evil Dead, and it has a huge following amongst the global horror genre lovers. However, this franchise had been steadily losing momentum due to the fact that recent films have not been upto the mark.
Coming to the topic now, the latest instalment from the Evil Dead franchise has been released in theatres, and it has opened to mixed reviews as well.
This film has opened to moderately mixed reviews when compared to earlier parts. But the positive thing is that it is able to bring the audience to the theatres in substantial numbers as it is turning out to be the biggest opener in franchise history.
Reportedly, the film is now tracking to make $2.5M-$3M today and $22M-$27M over the weekend, potentially the biggest domestic debut in the franchise.
Early reviews suggest this is by far the most violent film in the franchise. However, it reportedly lacks the intense, edge of the seat thrills that have long been the hallmark of the series.
The film is currently tracking decently in India as it is able to bring the horror audience to theatres. But considering the mixed reviews, it should be a tough task to hold the momentum for long as we have crowd favourite Odyssey directed by Christopher Nolan, coming up next week.
