What started as Telugu’s first Netflix Original series has now transformed into an international success. Sundeep Kishan’s Super Subbu, directed by Mallik Ram, has hit a sixer, striking a chord with audiences far beyond its domestic market, becoming one of Netflix’s biggest regional success stories across worldwide.
The series has enjoyed an exceptional response since its premiere, backed by encouraging reports from all corners. It currently stands as India’s No1 Fiction Show on Netflix, while the appreciation for its performances and storytelling continues to grow.
Sundeep Kishan has been widely applauded for choosing a refreshingly bold subject and delivering a performance that has resonated with viewers.
At the same time, Mallik Ram has earned immense appreciation for handling the often-taboo topic of sex education with sensitivity, warmth, and authenticity, making the series both engaging and meaningful.
Adding another feather to its cap, Super Subbu has now entered Netflix’s Top 10 trending charts in 12 countries, underlining its universal appeal. For a Telugu-language series to achieve such international reach is a landmark moment and reinforces the growing global appetite for high-quality regional Indian storytelling.
